My name is Patricia Moore, and I am the owner of Bark Avenue Grooming in Hughes Springs, Texas. I’ve been proudly serving the Hughes Springs community since opening my doors on June 7, 2021, and I’ve been a professional pet groomer since 2006.

My journey into grooming began with a very special dog named Candi. While working in retail at Petco, I met an approximately 15-year-old cocker spaniel who had been so severely neglected that her coat had become rock hard with mats. After I agreed to rescue her, the grooming team spent five hours carefully removing the painful mats from her tiny body. Watching that transformation changed my life. In that moment, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to helping dogs like Candi and educating pet owners so their beloved companions would never have to endure that kind of suffering. Candi spent the rest of her life with my husband, Gary, and me. Once her coat grew back, she had the most beautiful taupe-colored hair and the longest, curly ears I had ever seen on a cocker spaniel. She was the dog who inspired my life’s work. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a groomer and grooming manager at Petco, grooming for Dr. Kimbrough in Longview, owning Dog Tales Grooming in Diana, and working at Fur Babies in Ore City before finding my forever business home here in Hughes Springs.

My goal is simple: to continue serving this wonderful community for as long as I’m able. I believe every pet deserves compassionate, patient care, and I treat each one as if they were my own.

Rescue has always held a special place in my heart. Since 2006, I’ve rescued three senior cocker spaniels along with 11 other dogs and a cat in need. Today, my home is shared with four wonderful dogs, three sulcata tortoises, and a hedgehog and my shop is shared with eight parakeets and two bearded dragons. Caring for animals isn’t just my profession—it’s who I am.
